Every builder pulling permits in your area, and what their work is worth to you.

Pick your city or region. We read every building permit filed there in the last year and show you the builders actively permitting right now, ranked by your likely share of their work, on a map, in about ten seconds. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to upload.

Then, if you want, drop in your customer list and the same report shows which of those builders already buy from you, and how much of their work you’re not on.

What comes back

Four questions permits can answer and your CRM can't.

All of it free, all of it on the page the moment the check finishes. The first two need nothing from you.

Who is actually building in my area right now?

Every builder with three or more permits in the last year, the ones who filed in the last 90 days on top, with an estimate of what their work is worth to a supplier of your lines. Needs nothing from you but a city. This is your call list.

Where should I put a rep?

Your area split into zones and ranked: where to push, where to hold, where a rep's time goes furthest. Also needs nothing from you. Add your list and it re-ranks by the work you are not on, so the busiest place does not automatically win.

Which of my own customers have jobs I am not on?

With your customer list: for every builder on it, how many permits they pulled this year, how many of those jobs your records show you on, and what your share of the rest would be worth. It only looks at customers you already have, so a name you forgot makes the list shorter, never wrong.

How is each rep actually doing?

If your file names the rep on each job, you get a page for each rep: their accounts, their share of each builder's work, and a report you can forward with one goal for the quarter.

How it works

Pick your area. Then, if you want, add your list.

1

Pick where you sell

A province, a region, or the municipalities your reps cover. Only places we hold permits for are listed, with the project count beside each. What you sell is optional; skip it and the figures use a broad building-supply assumption, which the report says.

2

The report opens on this page

Every builder actively permitting there, ranked by your share of their work, the ones filing right now on top, on a map, with your area ranked by zone. Not in your inbox, not after a call.

3

Add your customer list, if you want

The export your ERP already makes, any columns. Each name is matched to the builder on permits, related company names count as one builder, and the report now shows which of those builders are yours and how much of their work you are on. Add an email only if you want a way back to it.

It’s your customer list. Here’s exactly what happens to it.

You should not have to take a stranger’s word for this. None of what follows is a promise. It is what the code does.

Your file is deleted, not stored

We read the customer names out of it and delete the file in the same step. What we keep is the list of names: not your spreadsheet, not your invoice values, not your contacts.

Nobody at BuildMapper browses it

Your report is locked to you in our database, the same way every paying customer's is. It is never shown to another company, never mixed into a shared pool of data, and never sold.

Only 12 rows are used to read your column headings

To work out which column holds the customer name, the first 12 rows go to Anthropic, the AI company we use, under business terms that forbid training on them. It only ever answers "which column is which". Every value in your report is copied from your file by our own server, and the rest of the file never leaves it.

We only need one column

The customer name. A job address column makes it far more useful, and a rep column gives you a page per rep. But you can delete every other column before you send it (price, margin, contact, volume) and the check still runs.

Want to see what the customer list adds? Try it on ours.

A made-up supplier’s customer list, built from real building permits. Download one, run its area above, then drop the file in under the builder list and you will see the coverage and leak screens before you decide whether to send your own.

Questions

The ones managers actually ask.

Is it really free? What's the catch?

Yes, and there is no catch. The builder list, the map, the ranked zones, the coverage report if you add your list, the page per rep and the weekly note all cost nothing, and there is no time limit. We make money when a supplier wants the rest of BuildMapper: the full permit database, contacts, pipeline, alerts. This check shows you whether our data is any good for your area. That is the only honest way to sell it.

Can you tell me who my competitors supplied?

No, and anyone who says they can is guessing. A building permit names who built a job, never who supplied it. So when this says you are not on a job, it means your own records do not show you on it, not that you lost it. The report keeps that difference everywhere.

Do I have to upload anything?

No. Pick your area and the builder list, the map and the zones come back with nothing given. The customer list is optional and adds one thing: which of those builders already buy from you, and how much of their work you are on.

What if my file is messy?

It will be, and that is fine. We work out the column names ourselves, so send the export exactly as it comes out. Any customer we could not match to a builder is listed back to you, not quietly dropped.

Do I have to give you an email?

Not to see the report. It opens on the page. An email only gets you a way back to it: a sign-in link, and a short note each week when a builder in your area does something worth knowing. No address, no email, ever.

How current is the permit data?

New permits land every Monday, and the report covers the last 12 months. It tells you how many permits it read and over what dates, so you can judge for yourself how well we cover your area rather than take our word for it.

How accurate are the dollar figures?

A permit records what a project costs to build: the whole house. You only sell part of it, so every dollar figure is your likely share of that job. The report says which share it used and where that number came from. If it is a published industry figure it says so, and you can replace it with your own number in one field.

Pick a city. See who’s building there.

Every builder actively permitting in your area, the ones filing right now on top, with an estimate of what their work is worth to you. Add your customer list afterwards to see which of them are already yours.
